I know that this is way over-due for a Thanksgiving update but the holidays got away from me, forgive me!
This year we needed to stay in Sacramento and could not go home to Jacksonville (for the first time ever!). To make it fun, and to distract ourselves from not being with family, we invited some of our friends over who were in similar situations. We ended up having a great time cooking together as a group, hosting an official “light beer tasting”, and sitting by the fire-pit at the end of the night.
The day was a personal highlight for me because it was the first time I got to use our serve ware from our wedding gifts! I also decorated the table with handmade napkins my mom gave me and a vintage table-cloth that was a bridesmaids gift this past year. Tyler was excited to cook his first turkey on the Green Egg and in my very unbiased opinion it was the best turkey I have had in years!
The table setting is beautiful!
Loved your T’giving pics and everything sure looked yummy … and I do believe those wooden plates look familiar and a lot newer than mine …. they are the best and stand the test of many, many meals over the years … Love and miss you guys and oh, I mailed your Christmas present yesterday … Stephanie
I’m so smitten by the decor… that table setting is an absolute dream.
